KPCC Chief Hariprasad Vows to Continue Fight to Ban RSS
KPCC Chief: Fight to Ban RSS Will Continue

Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) chief B K Hariprasad has declared that the campaign to ban the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) will persist. He made the statement on 25 June 2026, while also alleging irregularities in the acquisition of land for Chanakya University in Bengaluru.

Ongoing Demand for RSS Ban

Hariprasad reiterated the Congress party's long-standing position that the RSS should be outlawed, citing ideological differences and alleged involvement in anti-national activities. He emphasized that the party would continue to press for a ban through legal and political channels.

Chanakya University Land Scam Allegations

The KPCC chief accused the state government of irregularities in the land acquisition process for Chanakya University. He claimed that the deal involved corruption and favored certain individuals, though he did not provide specific evidence during his address.

“There is a scandal in the acquisition of land for Chanakya University in Bengaluru,” Hariprasad said, according to reports. He called for a thorough investigation into the matter.

Political Reactions

The BJP-led state government has dismissed the allegations as baseless. A government spokesperson said the land acquisition followed due process and that Hariprasad’s claims were politically motivated. The RSS has not officially responded to the renewed demand for a ban.

The issue is expected to feature prominently in the upcoming state assembly sessions, with Congress planning to raise both the ban demand and the land scam allegations.
