LJP(RV) to Contest UP Elections, Says Chirag Paswan

Patna: Union minister and LJP(RV) chief Chirag Paswan on Tuesday said his party is preparing to contest elections in Uttar Pradesh, and the party’s in-charge Arun Bharti is focused on strengthening the organisation there.

Chirag Paswan's Statement

“Our MLAs, MPs, and leaders from Bihar are working on organisational expansion in UP. A decision regarding the election strategy will be taken at an appropriate time,” he told reporters at Patna airport.

Arun Bharti's Remarks

Jamui MP Arun Bharti said the number of seats the LJP(RV) will contest will be decided at the time of the elections. “But our preparations are underway for all 403 seats. The ‘green gamcha’ of Bihar is the red cap in UP where the dalit population understands well how the dream of a sun has been sold to them on the bicycle (Samajwadi party election symbol). They are now coming with NDA and Chirag ji. We are consolidating the dalit people in UP,” he said.

Party's Strategy

The LJP(RV) is focusing on expanding its base in Uttar Pradesh, with a special emphasis on dalit voters. The party believes that the dalit community has been misled by the Samajwadi Party and is now ready to support the NDA alliance under Chirag Paswan's leadership.
