BJP MLA Kisan Kathore officially inaugurated the 1.2-kilometer funicular service on Sunday. This event represents a significant milestone for the thousands of pilgrims who visit this sacred site annually. The project brings modern convenience to a traditional spiritual journey.

The most noticeable impact is the drastic reduction in travel time. Previously, devotees faced a challenging climb of approximately 2,600 steps to reach the hilltop shrine. This arduous journey particularly affected elderly pilgrims, young children, and individuals with health concerns. Now, the comfortable funicular ride completes the same ascent in just minutes.
Enhanced Capacity and Scenic Experience
The new service can accommodate up to 120 passengers simultaneously. This substantial capacity helps manage large crowds efficiently during festivals and peak visiting periods. Free Rides for Initial Promotion
To encourage pilgrims to experience the new facility, the project contractor announced free rides for the first two days following inauguration. This promotional offer allows devotees to familiarize themselves with the service without financial burden during its initial operational phase.

The funicular project represents the culmination of years of planning and effort. MLA Kathore first proposed the initiative back in 2004. Construction spanned nearly thirteen years, with completion achieved last year. However, authorities delayed the launch until all necessary safety clearances were thoroughly obtained and verified.
