Prayagraj: A 30-year-old man allegedly died by suicide in the Kaithana area late Thursday night, police said. Initial investigations suggest a domestic dispute may have led to the extreme step.
Police identified the deceased as Shahrukh alias Atiq. He was married to Gulfasa for about three years. The couple has a child.
According to police, relations between the couple had recently soured and the matter had also reached court. Atiq had filed a complaint at a paramarsh kendra (counselling centre) over the marital dispute, and his wife had returned to their home on Wednesday, a day before the incident.

The incident took place late Thursday night in the Kaithana area of Prayagraj. The police were alerted and arrived at the scene to find the body. They have sent the body for post-mortem and are investigating the case.
