CM Mann Demands Collective Healing After Decades of Systematic Looting in Punjab
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann launched a sharp attack on opposition parties during his visit to Amritsar. He squarely blamed the Congress, Shiromani Akali Dal, and BJP for what he called systematic looting of Punjab over several decades. Speaking at a gathering in Ajnala, Mann called for collective healing across the state.
Opposition Parties Lack Vision, Says Mann
Mann alleged that internal discord has intensified within opposition parties. He claimed they lack any concrete agenda for public welfare. According to the chief minister, these traditional parties have no vision for Punjab's future.
"They are merely waiting for another opportunity to exploit the people and the state's resources," Mann told the crowd. He asserted that their dreams will never be realized because Punjabis are wise and brave.
The people of Punjab are fully aware of the dubious character of such leaders, Mann emphasized. He added that Punjabis will never allow these forces to succeed in their nefarious designs.
Urging Vigilance Against Opportunistic Politicians
Mann urged citizens to remain vigilant against what he described as opportunistic and power-hungry politicians. He said the sole objective of traditional parties has been to exploit Punjab and its people.
The chief minister called for their complete rejection. He emphasized that only then could the state government's efforts to build a Rangla Punjab bear fruit.
"The government is working relentlessly to fast-track development," Mann declared. He highlighted several initiatives including:
- Establishing new Aam Aadmi Clinics
- Upgrading schools and colleges
- Implementing various people-centric programs
New College to Empower Border Area Youth
During his visit, Mann laid the foundation stone for a Rs 15-crore Government Degree College project. The co-educational institution is being established at Bikraur, a border village in Ajnala.
The college aims to enable local youth to pursue higher education close to their homes. It will come up on 15 acres of land and is expected to benefit students from nearly 50 surrounding villages.
Over 2,000 enrolments are anticipated for the new institution. The college will offer courses in:
- Arts
- Science
- Commerce
- Computer Science
- Artificial Intelligence
- Digital Skills
Leaders Hail Historic Development
Senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia described the initiative as a path-breaking step toward empowering border area youth. "It is unfortunate that there was no college within a 70 km radius in Ajnala," Sisodia noted.
He said today a long-pending demand of the people has been fulfilled. The AAP believes in delivering on every promise, and this college reflects that commitment, Sisodia added.
Punjab Minister Harjot Singh Bains called it a historic day made possible by the far-sightedness of the chief minister and state government. "The upcoming project will transform the destiny of youth in this border district," Bains stated.
The college represents a significant investment in education infrastructure for remote areas. It addresses a critical gap in higher education access for border communities.
