Telangana Minister Strongly Refutes 'Secret Meeting' Allegations as Politically Motivated
In a firm rebuttal to circulating social media narratives, Telangana's Minister for Information Technology and Industries, D Sridhar Babu, has categorically dismissed reports describing a recent gathering of ministers as a "secret meeting." The minister, addressing the media on Tuesday, labeled these claims as misleading and politically colored, asserting they distort the normal functioning of democratic governance.
Minister Clarifies Democratic Nature of Ministerial Discussions
Issuing an official statement from Hyderabad, Sridhar Babu emphasized that in a robust democratic system, discussions among individuals holding constitutional responsibilities should never be misrepresented or sensationalized. He expressed deep concern over what he termed false narratives being propagated on social media platforms, which he believes undermine public trust in governmental processes.
"The state Cabinet operates as a cohesive collective unit. Coordination among senior ministers on critical governance-related issues constitutes an integral part of our responsibility to ensure seamless and efficient administration," the minister stated unequivocally.
Details of the Meeting and Context of Allegations
Providing specific details to counter the allegations, Sridhar Babu clarified that the meeting in question was conducted at the official residence of Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka at Praja Bhavan on Monday. He stressed that the discussions were exclusively focused on administrative matters, with no hidden agenda.
The minister was referring to his visit alongside colleagues N Uttam Kumar Reddy and Adluri Laxman Kumar to Vikramarka's residence. This gathering had been inaccurately portrayed on some social media channels as a clandestine meeting, notably held in the absence of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, and erroneously linked to unsubstantiated allegations concerning Naini coal block tenders.
Transparency in Movements and Electoral Preparedness
To further dispel any notions of secrecy, Sridhar Babu highlighted the transparency of their movements. He noted that after attending the 'At Home' programme at Raj Bhavan, the ministers travelled together in a single vehicle, fully visible to the public, thereby negating any insinuations of covert interactions.
