Minorities lag in Karnataka: U Nisar Ahmed

Karnataka Minorities Commission chairman U Nisar Ahmed expressed concern that the progress of minority communities in the state has not reached the desired level. Speaking in Shivamogga, he noted that several schemes are being implemented through the Minority Welfare Department, Development Corporations, and other government departments to ensure the social and economic upliftment of minorities.

Schemes in Place

Ahmed highlighted that multiple initiatives are underway to address the needs of minority groups. These include educational scholarships, skill development programs, and financial assistance for entrepreneurship. However, he admitted that the impact of these measures has been insufficient in bridging the developmental gap.

Challenges Ahead

The chairman pointed out that despite the government's efforts, minorities continue to face hurdles in accessing benefits. He emphasized the need for better implementation and monitoring of welfare schemes to achieve tangible results. Ahmed also called for greater awareness among minority communities about available resources.
