Madhya Pradesh Government to Present Budget on February 18, Invites Public Input
Madhya Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Devda officially announced on Saturday that the state government will present its annual budget on February 18. Speaking at an event in Indore, Devda emphasized that the administration is actively seeking suggestions from various sections of society through comprehensive pre-budget consultations.
Wide-Ranging Consultations for Inclusive Budget Planning
Devda revealed that the government is inviting members of the general public, subject experts, and stakeholders from different economic sectors to participate in budget dialogue sessions. This initiative aims to ensure wider representation of views and create a more practical financial document.
"We are making concerted efforts to gather suggestions from all sectors of society," Devda stated. "The general public and subject experts are being formally invited for dialogue on the budget. Meaningful discussions with experienced people from diverse fields will help us prepare a more effective and outcome-oriented budget."
Industrial Input Crucial for Economic Priorities
The deputy chief minister specifically highlighted the importance of consultations with industrialists, particularly those from Indore, which is a major economic hub in the state. He noted that these discussions are expected to provide critical insights for policy planning and help establish appropriate economic priorities.
"Future discussions with industrial stakeholders will help shape a budget that is better and more beneficial for everyone," Devda explained. "Without such dialogue, achieving meaningful outcomes becomes significantly more difficult."
Technology Exhibition Showcases Agricultural Innovation
Following his budget announcement, Devda visited an exhibition showcasing new technology in dal milling and food processing. The event featured participation from more than 200 national and international machinery manufacturers, including companies from Turkey, England, and Canada.
These international firms displayed advanced dal, rice, and flour processing plants capable of producing high-quality flour, maida, rava, suji, and besan. Additionally, companies from Taiwan, China, and several Indian states presented specialized equipment for processing spices such as mustard, coriander, and chilli.
Industry Leaders Emphasize Technological Adoption
All India Dal Mill Association president Suresh Agarwal commented on the exhibition, stating that adoption of new technology would help deliver better-quality pulses and processed foods to consumers while simultaneously enhancing efficiency across the agricultural processing sector.
The government's dual focus on inclusive budget consultations and technological advancement in key industries reflects a comprehensive approach to economic planning that balances public input with sector-specific innovation.
