Nagpur Mayor Announces Special Ceremony for NMC's 75th Foundation Day
Mayor Neeta Thakre has issued directives to municipal officials to organize a special felicitation ceremony on March 2, commemorating the Foundation Day of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC). This significant event forms a crucial part of the civic body's ongoing Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, highlighting decades of urban governance and public service.
Celebrating 75 Years of Civic Administration
Nagpur, widely recognized as the Zero Mile City, will mark a remarkable milestone on March 2 as it completes 75 years of organized civic administration. Mayor Thakre emphasized the profound importance of this occasion, stating that the ceremony is designed to express heartfelt gratitude to former mayors, deputy mayors, and numerous other office-bearers who have played pivotal roles in shaping the city's development over the decades.
Preparatory Meeting and Official Instructions
A comprehensive preparatory meeting was convened on Friday in the Mayor's chamber to meticulously review all arrangements for the upcoming Foundation Day event. The meeting saw participation from key officials including deputy commissioner Nirbhay Jain, deputy commissioner and corporation secretary Dr Ranjana Lade, executive engineer Alpana Patne, PRO Manish Soni, sports officer Dr Piyush Ambulkar, PR department's Amol Tapase, sports inspector Ujwala Charade, and several other municipal representatives.
Reiterating the NMC's enduring motto, "Paur Jan Hitay", Mayor Thakre underscored that the municipal corporation has consistently strived to serve citizens and strengthen urban governance throughout its history. She provided specific instructions to ensure that the families of deceased former office-bearers receive appropriate honors during the ceremony, acknowledging their lasting contributions to Nagpur's progress.

Mayor Thakre has directed municipal staff to complete all necessary arrangements promptly to guarantee the seamless conduct of the Foundation Day program.
