Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar launched a major development push in two districts on Monday. He inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 170 projects with a total value of Rs 613 crore. The Chief Minister conducted these events during his ongoing Samriddhi Yatra.
Major Project Inaugurations Across Districts
At a function in Sitamarhi district, CM Nitish Kumar remotely inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 67 development projects. These projects carry a combined worth of Rs 554.12 crore. The ceremony took place as part of his Samriddhi Yatra program.
Later that same day, the Chief Minister moved to Sheohar district for another significant event. There he launched and inaugurated 103 different schemes. These initiatives have a total valuation of Rs 59 crore.
CM Outlines Vision for Bihar's Future
While addressing a gathering at Hitnarain High School in Chandauli, Sitamarhi district, Nitish Kumar shared his development vision. He spoke about the government's 'Sabka Samman – Jeevan Aasaan' program. This initiative aims to simplify people's lives through new technology and responsive administration.
"Our state is progressing continuously," the Chief Minister declared. "New developmental initiatives are also being undertaken. Over the next five years, more such work will be completed. This will enable Bihar to join the group of developed states. It will contribute significantly to national development."
He acknowledged the Centre's active cooperation in these efforts. The CM emphasized that youth would receive proper skill training to help them secure jobs. He announced plans to establish a new education city in the state.
Comprehensive Development Plans Announced
Nitish Kumar outlined several key initiatives during his addresses. He promised new industries would receive promotion with free land offered to investors. Steps will be taken to reopen closed sugar mills across Bihar.
The Chief Minister announced a ban on private practice by government doctors. He also revealed incentives for setting up new quality hospitals in the private sector. "Unlike those in power before me," he stated, "we have worked across all sectors. We keep in mind the aspirations of every section of society."
Detailed Development Review and Additional Initiatives
At both events, the Chief Minister presented a detailed account of development activities. He highlighted work carried out in Bihar over the past twenty years under his leadership. He also outlined new initiatives planned for the current tenure.
These plans include providing government jobs and creating work opportunities. The target is one crore youths over the next five years. Earlier at the 'jan samvad' venues, he reviewed ongoing schemes under the 'Saat Nischay (Seven Resolves)-2' program. He also examined projects announced under the Pragati Yatra for 2024–25.
Specific Infrastructure Projects Launched
Among the specific projects, CM Nitish Kumar laid the foundation stone for an RCC bridge. This bridge will cross the Bagmati river at Chandauli in Sitamarhi district. Approach roads are included in this project. The total cost amounts to Rs 70.89 crore.
The newly developed Nakshatra Vatika was also inaugurated during these events. The Chief Minister visited exhibition stalls in both districts. These stalls displayed products made by Jeevika didis and other local artisans.
Financial Support Distributed to Families
Substantial financial support reached beneficiaries during the programs. In Sitamarhi district, cheques worth Rs 1.19 crore were distributed. This assistance went to 386 target families under a livelihood scheme.
Additionally, another cheque of Rs 252 crore was provided in bank linkages. This support benefits 19,124 Jeevika didis associated with 4,813 self-help groups. The comprehensive development push covers multiple sectors across the two districts.
