Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar made an emotional journey to his ancestral village on Saturday, connecting with his roots and paying heartfelt tributes to his late family members. The visit to Kalyan Bigha in Patna district saw the CM honoring his freedom fighter father and other departed family members while engaging with local residents.

Emotional Tributes in Native Village

Nitish Kumar visited Kalyan Bigha specifically to pay homage to his father, the late Kaviraj Ramlakhan Singh, who had fought for India's freedom. The Chief Minister offered floral tributes at his father's statue in a solemn ceremony that reflected the deep personal significance of the visit.

In addition to honoring his father, the CM also paid respects to his late mother, Parameshwari Devi, and his deceased wife, Manju Sinha, by offering flowers at their statues. The family gathering included Nitish Kumar's brother, Satish Kumar, along with other relatives who joined in paying homage to the departed family members.

Spiritual Visit and Public Interaction

The Chief Minister's itinerary included spiritual elements as he offered prayers at the Bhagwati Temple, also known as Devi Sthan, in his native village. This religious stop underscored the personal nature of his visit to Kalyan Bigha.

Demonstrating his connection to the local community, Nitish Kumar took time to meet with village residents, personally inquiring about their welfare and accepting their greetings. During these interactions, he actively listened to the problems faced by the villagers and promptly instructed concerned officials to address and resolve these issues.

Political Presence and Additional Engagements

The ceremony attracted significant political attention, with several prominent leaders joining the CM in paying floral tributes at the statue of Late Ramlakhan Singh. The gathering included MP Kaushlendra Kumar, MLAs Krishna Murari Sharan, Jitendra Kumar, Kaushal Kishore, and Ruhel Ranjan, along with JD(U) national general secretary Manish Kumar Verma.

Administrative officials present at the event included secretaries to the CM Kumar Ravi and Chandrashekhar Singh, IGP (Patna range) Jitendra Rana, Patna DM Thiyagarajan S M, Nalanda DM Kundan Kumar, SP Bharat Soni, and various social and political workers.

Later in the day, the Chief Minister traveled to Bhagalpur to visit the residence of Uday Kant Mishra, vice-chairman of the Bihar State Disaster Management Authority. There, he participated in the 'shraadh' ritual of Mishra's late mother, laying flowers before her photograph and offering consolation to the grieving family.

In a separate expression of condolence, Nitish Kumar expressed deep sorrow over the demise of former Saran JD(U) district president Raghav Prasad Singh. In his message, the CM noted that the late leader had been associated with the then Samata Party since its inception and had maintained a deep interest in social work. Kumar described Singh's passing as "an irreparable loss to the political and social spheres" of Bihar.
