Osmanabad MP Omprakash Rajenimbalkar, one of the six Shiv Sena (UBT) MPs reportedly poised to defect to the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, stated on Saturday that he will announce his next political move in a couple of days after consulting with his supporters. The announcement came following a special CBI court's acquittal of all accused in the murder case of his father, Pavanraje Nimbalkar.
Acquittal in Father's Murder Case
Rajenimbalkar traveled to Pune after the verdict was delivered. He was present in court when the judgment was pronounced. Expressing his disappointment to reporters in the city, he said, "Now that all the accused have been acquitted, who killed my father? This is ‘Kalyug’, where a person who behaves nicely always faces disappointments."
The MP confirmed that he will appeal the verdict in a higher court. "I was expecting justice for my father and therefore, I was fighting the case for the past 20 years. I hoped that all the culprits would be convicted, but I was disappointed. Once I get the copy of the court order, we will study the verdict and appeal against it in the higher court," he added.
Political Defection Speculation
Rajenimbalkar is among six MPs from Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena (UBT) faction expected to join Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena in the coming days. On Saturday, he stated that his decision on the political move will be made after discussions with supporters in his constituency. "While I shall convey my decision in the next couple of days, I won’t say anything against Uddhav and Aaditya Thackeray," he said.

The potential defection of Rajenimbalkar and other MPs could significantly alter the political landscape in Maharashtra, strengthening Shinde's faction. Rajenimbalkar's appeal against the acquittal in his father's murder case will proceed simultaneously with his political deliberations.
