PMK's Anbumani Calls DMK Manifesto a 'Comedy Script'

PMK President Anbumani Ramadoss Dismisses DMK's 2026 Election Manifesto as a 'Comedy Script'

In a sharp critique, PMK president Anbumani Ramadoss has labeled the DMK's 2026 assembly election manifesto a "comedy script" rather than a legitimate roadmap for development. In a statement issued on Monday, he described the document as a "Sadhuranga Vettai," or con-game, designed to mislead the public.

Repetition of Old Promises Under Fire

The core of Anbumani's attack focuses on the repetition of old promises. He alleged that out of the 517 promises in the new manifesto, at least 63 are identical to those made in 2021, merely re-branded with new terminology. This, he argued, highlights a lack of genuine commitment to progress.

Unfulfilled Job Creation and Government Vacancies

Anbumani pointed to specific unfulfilled pledges from the 2021 manifesto. He noted that in 2021, the DMK promised to fill 3.5 lakh government vacancies and create two lakh new posts. "Having failed to fill even 50,000 posts while over six lakh positions remain vacant today, DMK now claim they will fill 1.5 lakh posts. They have lost the moral right to make such a promise," he asserted.

Criticism of Private Sector and NEET Promises

He reminded voters of other broken promises, including the unfulfilled commitment to reserve 75% of posts for Tamil people in the private sector and the failed target of creating 50 million jobs in that sector. Anbumani also mocked the DMK's previous claim that the first signature of their government would be to abolish NEET. "After 50 students have tragically lost their lives to suicide because the government failed to act, they have now simply removed the word 'NEET' and replaced it with 'National entrance exams for higher education'. This shows a total lack of guilt," he said.

Dismissal of Tamil Language Promise

Anbumani dismissed the promise to make Tamil an official language of the Union government as a "shameless joke," noting that the DMK failed to achieve this despite being part of the Union government for 18 years. He concluded that the DMK's manifesto would not save them from the impending wrath of the voters.

Public Awareness and Electoral Consequences

He claimed that the public is well aware that 87% of the 2021 promises remain unfulfilled. "The DMK's manifesto is like a 'blunt nail' that is of no use to anyone. The people of Tamil Nadu have already resolved to defeat the DMK in the upcoming polls," he declared, emphasizing widespread disillusionment with the ruling party's track record.
