Puducherry Chief Minister Boasts of Coalition's Performance, Sets Sights on 2026 Elections
In a bold declaration, Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy has stated that the All India NR Congress (AINRC)-BJP coalition government has not only fulfilled but surpassed the promises outlined in its 2021 election manifesto. Addressing party members and cadres during the AINRC's 16th anniversary celebrations on Saturday, Rangasamy emphasized that the government's track record is beyond reproach, leaving no room for criticism.
Rangasamy Urges Party Cadres to Campaign Confidently on Achievements
Speaking after hoisting the party flag at the AINRC headquarters, the Chief Minister called on functionaries to approach voters fearlessly in the lead-up to the 2026 assembly polls. He urged them to highlight the coalition's accomplishments, contrasting them with what he described as the unproductive and disappointing regimes of previous Congress-DMK administrations.
"People widely regard the earlier Congress-DMK governments as the worst in Puducherry's history, as they delivered virtually nothing for the populace," Rangasamy asserted. He pointed out that the current administration enjoys robust support from the Union government, bolstering its ability to implement policies effectively.
Focus on Job Creation and Development in Upcoming Manifesto
Looking ahead, Rangasamy revealed that the party is crafting a new, people-centric election manifesto for 2026, with a strong emphasis on development and economic growth. A key priority will be generating increased employment opportunities for the youth, addressing a critical concern in the region.
"Our forthcoming manifesto will be meticulously designed to focus on holistic development and creating more jobs, ensuring that the youth of Puducherry have a brighter future," he stated.
Substantial Achievements Cited in Governance and Infrastructure
To back his claims, the Chief Minister detailed specific achievements of the coalition government. He highlighted that over 4,500 government posts have been filled through direct recruitment processes that were conducted with fairness and transparency. This move has significantly expanded public sector employment in Puducherry.
Additionally, Rangasamy noted the implementation of numerous high-value infrastructure projects, worth several crores of rupees, which have enhanced the region's physical and economic landscape. These initiatives underscore the government's commitment to progress and development.
