BJP leader slams Karnataka government over vacant agriculture minister post
Karnataka BJP leader R Ashoka on Tuesday urged the state government to appoint a full-time agriculture minister, expressing concern over the plight of farmers who, he said, are anxious and looking for leadership. "Anxious farmers are looking for leadership. But all they see is a government consumed by its own survival," Ashoka said.
Criticism of government priorities
Ashoka accused the ruling party of neglecting the agriculture sector while focusing on political survival. He highlighted that the absence of a dedicated minister is hampering decision-making and timely interventions needed for the farming community. The BJP leader demanded immediate action to fill the post.
Impact on farmers
Farmers in Karnataka have been facing multiple challenges, including erratic weather, market price fluctuations, and rising input costs. Ashoka argued that without a full-time minister, their grievances remain unaddressed. He called on Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to prioritize agriculture and provide stable leadership.
According to Ashoka, the delay in appointing a minister reflects the government's lack of commitment to the agrarian crisis. He urged the CM to end the uncertainty and give farmers the attention they deserve.
