Ranvir Sena Chief's Family Intervenes in NEET Student Death Case, Issues Ultimatum to Bihar Government

In a significant development that has added a new dimension to the ongoing investigation into the suspicious death of a medical aspirant from Jehanabad, the family of the late Brahmeshwar Singh Mukhia, the once-feared self-styled chief of the Ranvir Sena, has entered the controversy with strong demands for justice.

Family Demands Action, Threatens Consequences

On Thursday, Ruby Kumari, a daughter-in-law of the former Sena chief, visited the victim's family in Jehanabad to express solidarity and raise serious questions about the police investigation. She questioned why law enforcement authorities appeared to be "groping in the dark" even ten days after the tragic incident occurred.

"The Bihar Police have claimed to crack the murder of the NEET student by January 26. If they do not meet this deadline, then we will act and bulldoze the house and hostel of the accused persons. We too have bulldozers," Kumari declared while speaking to reporters.

Political Criticism and Broader Allegations

In a pointed criticism of the state administration, Kumari mocked Bihar's Home Minister Samrat Choudhary, asking "Has Samrat Choudhary's bulldozer run out of fuel?" This reference to the government's demolition drives against criminals highlighted her frustration with the pace of investigation.

Kumari made broader allegations, claiming that the Jehanabad girl was the fourth victim from their community to die under similar circumstances in Bihar. She demanded justice for all victims and issued a stark warning: "If they fail to get justice, our society will creep in. The tales of the past are being repeated."

Background of the Tragic Incident

The 18-year-old victim, who was preparing for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), was found unconscious in her hostel room and initially taken to a private hospital. As her condition deteriorated, she was transferred to another medical facility where she tragically died during treatment on January 11. Her death has triggered widespread protests across Bihar, with students and civil society demanding a thorough investigation.

Historical Context and Potential Implications

Kumari's intervention carries significant weight given her family's background. Brahmeshwar Singh Mukhia, who once led the private militia Ranvir Sena that engaged in violent conflicts with Maoists in south-central Bihar, was himself killed by unidentified assailants on June 1, 2012. His family's entry into this case is expected to intensify the controversy and political pressure surrounding the investigation.

The Ranvir Sena family has threatened to call for a Bihar Bandh (state-wide shutdown) if justice is denied in this case. This development comes at a sensitive time when the state government is already facing criticism over law and order issues, particularly concerning the safety of students and women.

As the January 26 deadline set by the police approaches, all eyes are on how the investigation progresses and whether the authorities can deliver justice in this emotionally charged case that has captured public attention across Bihar.
