The police department outlined multiple reasons for their decision beyond just the festival conflict. December 6th marks the anniversary of the Babri Masjid demolition, which authorities consider a sensitive date requiring heightened security measures across the state. Consequently, the police have ruled out granting permission for any major political gatherings on that day as well.
Additionally, police officials noted that the application submitted by Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam lacked crucial details, particularly regarding the estimated crowd size expected to attend the meeting. This omission made proper security planning impossible for the law enforcement agency.

In response to the rejection, Vijay is likely to select an alternative date during the second week of December and submit a fresh application to the Salem police. The party has been advised to apply for permission at least four weeks in advance of their planned event date to allow sufficient time for proper security arrangements.
This development comes after Vijay had to temporarily halt his statewide tour that began in September following a stampede incident in Karur. Since road shows have been prohibited after the Karur stampede, the actor-turned-politician has shifted his strategy to focus on public meetings as his primary method of connecting with voters.
