SBSP Leader Om Prakash Rajbhar Launches 2027 Poll Campaign with OBC Quota Demands
In a significant political move, Suheldeo Bhartiya Samaj Party (SBSP) supremo and Uttar Pradesh Panchayati Raj Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar has sounded the bugle for the 2027 Vidhan Sabha elections. Addressing a large crowd at the SBSP's Samrasta rally held at Janta Intermediate College ground in Ahraula, Azamgarh district, Rajbhar made a fervent appeal to non-Yadav voters to break free from what he termed the "slavery" of those monopolizing the benefits of the 27% reservation quota for Other Backward Classes (OBCs).
Rajbhar's Call for OBC Quota Division and Social Justice
Targeting the Samajwadi Party and its leader Akhilesh Yadav, Rajbhar questioned how long the broader OBC community would be misled, beyond a select few castes that have reaped maximum advantages from the reservation system. He highlighted that numerous castes within the OBC category, such as Nai, Rajbhar, Chauhan, Prajapati, Pal, Maurya, Julaha, and Chaurasiya, have not benefited adequately despite having equal rights.
"These communities have awakened to the fact that their rights are being looted," Rajbhar asserted. "Youth from Prajapati, Pal, Gond, Chaurasiya, Chauhan, Bind, Patel, Maurya, and other castes, who were kept in fear, are now being mobilized to leave the slavery of the Samajwadi Party."
He emphasized that due to this growing awareness, these deprived sections are abandoning alliances with those who exploit their rights and are joining forces with groups offering hope for their fair share. Rajbhar reiterated the demand for dividing the 27% OBC quota into segments of 7%, 9%, and 11%, as recommended by the Rohini Commission report, to ensure equitable distribution among all OBC sub-castes.
Showcasing Brahmin Support and Political Strategy
Demonstrating his party's expanding base, Rajbhar pointed to the substantial presence of Brahmin dignitaries and voters at the rally. He praised Brahmins as guides who show the right path to society and noted that people from every community attended voluntarily, indicating Azamgarh's readiness to defeat the Samajwadi Party in upcoming elections.
"I am blowing the bugle for the 2027 Assembly election on behalf of the NDA from Azamgarh soil, pledging to win all 10 seats in the district," Rajbhar declared. He outlined the NDA's goal to form the government in 2027 with better results than the 2022 polls, predicting a decline for the Samajwadi Party reminiscent of its 2017 performance.
Criticism of Samajwadi Party's Development Record
Rajbhar continued his attack on the Samajwadi Party, accusing it of neglecting development in areas like Ahraula. He cited the construction of Maharaja Suheldev University as an example, questioning why the SP government did not make serious efforts to build it. "They planned it with Rs 1500 crore, but the NDA government completed it with only Rs 1100 crore," he stated, highlighting the efficiency of the current administration.
In a related event, BJP's Rajbhar face and Uttar Pradesh Minister Anil Rajbhar also held a rally in Mahul, Azamgarh district, commemorating Maharaja Suheldev's birth anniversary, further consolidating the party's outreach in the region.
This rally marks a strategic push by SBSP to galvanize support among marginalized OBC castes and Brahmins, setting the stage for a contentious political battle in Uttar Pradesh leading up to the 2027 elections.
