CM Stalin Expresses Confidence in DMK's Re-election, Highlights Dravidian Model's Achievements
In a spirited address on Friday, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin exuded unwavering confidence that his government's performance would secure the DMK's continued winning streak in the forthcoming assembly election. Speaking in Chennai while replying to the motion of thanks to the governor's address, Stalin asserted that the people of Tamil Nadu had already made up their minds to support the Dravidian Model government for another term.
Stalin's Bold Prediction and Reflections on Governance
"I say this with full confidence that our government will return to continue Dravidian Model 2.0. We will win again and again," declared the Chief Minister, emphasizing his belief in the administration's track record. He admitted that when the DMK formed the government for the sixth time after the 2021 assembly poll victory, his initial joy was tempered by significant worries.
"I was worried whether I am going to handle the responsibility. Whether the promises can be fulfilled. Whether he could govern the state as desired by people. And he can run government to keep people happy," Stalin noted, reflecting on the challenges he faced upon taking office.
Overcoming Challenges and Celebrating Success
The Chief Minister outlined two major hurdles his administration had to overcome: the legacy of what he described as 10 years of AIADMK's poor regime that took the state and growth downhill, and a discriminatory government at the centre. Despite these obstacles, Stalin expressed immense satisfaction with the outcomes after five years of the Dravidian Model regime.
"After five years of Dravidian Model regime, I am happy. In fact, I am very, very happy," said Stalin, a sentiment that was warmly endorsed by his cabinet colleagues, members of the treasury bench, and political allies during the session.
Opposition Boycott and Focus on Public Happiness
Interestingly, the opposition camp largely boycotted Stalin's speech, with the exception of O Panneerselvam and his supporter Ayyappan, leaving the opposition benches nearly empty. Undeterred, the Chief Minister attributed his happiness to the contentment of the people, stating, "The reason for my happiness was that people were happy. I achieved my goal. The Dravidian Model government's achievements took forward the state and delivered governance to satisfy people of the state."
Future Vision and Key Initiatives
Looking ahead, Stalin promised that the forthcoming Dravidian Model government would perform even better, setting new benchmarks across all sectors. He recalled pivotal initiatives, such as his first signature to unveil free bus travel for women in city buses, and listed various other schemes that have defined his administration's approach to governance.
This address not only reinforced Stalin's optimism for the upcoming election but also highlighted the DMK's commitment to building on the successes of the Dravidian Model, aiming to secure continued public trust and drive Tamil Nadu's progress forward.
