Tejashwi Yadav Issues Stern Warning Over Harassment of RJD Workers
In a fiery address at the RJD office in Patna, opposition leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav declared on Saturday that his party would deliver a strong response if any of its workers faced harassment. He emphasized his unwavering commitment to the political legacy of his father, Lalu Prasad Yadav, stating he would neither stray from his ideologies nor submit to the current regime.
First Address as National Working President
Tejashwi spoke during an 'Abhinandan Samaroh' event organized to felicitate him, marking his first visit to the Beerchand Patel Path party office after being appointed RJD national working president. He expressed gratitude to Lalu Prasad for entrusting him with this significant responsibility and reaffirming his faith in his leadership.
"We will unite all those who follow Lalu Ji's ideologies," Tejashwi asserted. "Lalu Ji demonstrated immense courage by refusing to compromise his principles, even during his imprisonment. Similarly, I will not bow down to pressure." He reflected on his political journey, which includes roles as deputy chief minister and leader of the opposition, highlighting this as his inaugural organizational responsibility within the party.
Call to Action for Party Members
Tejashwi urged RJD members to act as dedicated soldiers, engaging with the public and advocating for marginalized communities such as the poor, economically deprived, extremely backward classes, Dalits, and minorities. He praised party workers for their resilience, noting that despite facing false charges and harassment during elections, they persistently voiced concerns for the underprivileged.
"If any of our workers is humiliated, we will not spare the perpetrators," he warned. "This is not true democracy; it is a reign of fear." Tejashwi expressed confidence in the future, stating that while the present era might not favor him, he has a long political innings ahead and dreams of elevating RJD to national prominence, a vision shared with his father.
Criticism of Political Rivals
Targeting Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Tejashwi accused him of wrongful framing after aligning with the BJP. "Nitish Ji may hold the position of CM, but he lacks true leadership qualities. Lalu Ji remains the real leader of Bihar," he declared. Additionally, he launched an attack on the NDA government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, citing issues like farmers' distress, foreign relations, and alleged interference by the American President in India's internal matters.
Earlier in the event, Tejashwi received a grand welcome from senior party leaders and workers who gathered from across Bihar, underscoring his rising stature within the RJD and setting the stage for intensified political engagements in the state.
