In a closely fought contest in Manamadurai (Assembly Constituency 187), Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) candidate Elangovan D secured victory after all 27 rounds of EVM counting. Elangovan polled 69,971 votes, winning by a narrow margin of just 1,208 votes over his nearest rival.

Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) candidate Tamilarasi A finished second with 68,763 votes, keeping the race extremely close till the final round. The margin of victory was less than 2% of the total votes cast, highlighting the intense competition in this constituency.
Third Place for BJP
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) nominee Balaganapathy V came in third with 42,610 votes. Despite a strong campaign, the BJP candidate could not bridge the gap with the top two contenders.
The Manamadurai result is part of the larger 2026 Tamil Nadu election results, where TVK has emerged as a formidable force, pushing traditional parties like DMK and AIADMK to the margins. This victory underscores the growing influence of TVK in the state's political landscape.
