A tragic road accident in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar district claimed two lives and left a woman injured late on Thursday night. The incident occurred when a speeding car collided with a parked truck on the Delhi-Yamunotri highway near the Kakrauli police station area.
Details of the Accident
According to police officials, the car was traveling from Delhi towards Yamunotri when the driver lost control and rammed into a stationary truck parked on the roadside. The impact was so severe that the car's front portion was completely crushed. Two occupants of the car died on the spot, while a woman sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital.
Victims Identified
The deceased have been identified as Ravi Kumar (32) and Sunil Verma (28), both residents of Muzaffarnagar. The injured woman, Priya Sharma (25), is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the district. Her condition is reported to be stable.
Police Investigation
Police have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances leading to the accident. Initial reports suggest that the truck was parked without proper warning lights or reflectors, which may have contributed to the collision. The truck driver has been taken into custody for questioning.
Senior police officials visited the spot and supervised the rescue operation. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination. Authorities have urged drivers to exercise caution and ensure proper parking protocols to prevent such incidents.
