Udhayanidhi Stalin Launches Scathing Attack on NDA Alliance in Thanjavur Speech
Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Udhayanidhi Stalin, delivered a fiery address at a DMK youth wing event in Thanjavur on Sunday, where he derisively described the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) as a coalition comprising parties with 'punctured tyres.' Without explicitly naming individuals, Udhayanidhi alluded to recent controversial remarks made by AMMK leader T T V Dhinakaran against Edappadi K Palaniswami, prior to Dhinakaran's party joining the NDA.
Mocking the NDA's Internal Conflicts
"One person declared it would be preferable to hang himself rather than align with Palaniswami," Udhayanidhi stated, referencing Dhinakaran's earlier comments. "Another individual asserted that Palaniswami lacks merit and is not even qualified to serve as a councillor." He juxtaposed these internal criticisms with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's advocacy for a 'double-engine government' in Tamil Nadu, sarcastically remarking, "Prime Minister Modi, examine your alliance vehicle—everyone inside has flat tyres. A vehicle with punctured tyres and a malfunctioning 'dabba' engine will never gain traction in Tamil Nadu."
Framing the Election as a Battle for Social Justice
Udhayanidhi emphasized that the forthcoming assembly election represents a decisive confrontation between social justice and social injustice. He characterized the opposition as a faction "wandering aimlessly without delivering any tangible benefits to the populace." "They possess no coherent policy framework, no guiding ideals, and no foundational principles, lacking even a fundamental grasp of political dynamics," he asserted. "Their approach is merely cacophonous noise; they perceive politics as mere entertainment. In reality, politics is about genuine public service. The DMK youth must exemplify unwavering commitment and dedication."
Condemning Fascism and Asserting Tamil Nadu's Autonomy
The deputy chief minister issued a clarion call to eradicate fascism and slavery, portraying the election as a pivotal struggle between Delhi and Tamil Nadu. "The youth are the frontline warriors in this critical battle. We must unequivocally demonstrate that Tamil Nadu will never succumb to Delhi's dominance," he proclaimed, rallying the young attendees to defend regional autonomy and values.
Highlighting DMK's Governance Achievements
Earlier in the day, Udhayanidhi inaugurated a new bus stand in Pattukkottai, where he reiterated the DMK government's successes. He specifically highlighted how the DMK thwarted BJP attempts to obstruct the Kalaignar Mahalir Urimai Thogai (KMUT) scheme, a significant welfare initiative. "The resounding success of our welfare schemes has positioned Tamil Nadu as a model for the entire nation to emulate," he added, underscoring the administration's developmental credentials.
Udhayanidhi was accompanied by key ministers Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, S Regupathy, and Govi Chezhian during these events, reinforcing the party's united front ahead of the electoral contest.
