Uttar Pradesh Sheds BIMARU Tag, Embraces Triple-T Identity
In a significant declaration, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath asserted on Friday that the state has completely transformed from its former BIMARU status to now symbolize the Triple-T framework: Technology, Trust, and Transformation. Addressing the legislative assembly, he highlighted this shift as a monumental achievement of his government over the past nine years.
From Disorder to Development: A Governance Revolution
CM Yogi Adityanath described the period under his administration as a profound transformation in both governance and public life. He outlined this evolution through several key transitions:
- From crime and disorder to discipline
- From curfew to rule of law
- From rioting to festival
- From problem to solution
- From distrust to self-confidence
"Uttar Pradesh is now a state of trust and development, not fear," he emphasized, noting that this journey represents not just administrative changes but a deep-seated shift in mindset and policy commitment.
Economic and Social Milestones
The Chief Minister pointed to concrete achievements that underscore this transformation. For the first time, the economic survey was presented in an organized manner in the House, symbolizing the state's journey from thought to system and system to development. He proudly stated that Uttar Pradesh now ranks among the top three economies in the country, with over 6 crore people lifted out of multidimensional poverty through the efforts of the "double engine government."
"Now no one calls UP BIMARU. Uttar Pradesh has become a breakthrough of India's economy, leading as the forward engine of India's development," Adityanath declared.
Strengthening Law and Order
A major focus of the government has been on revamping the state's law and order apparatus. The CM detailed extensive reforms:
- Large-scale recruitment in the police force, with over 60,200 recent recruitments
- Increase in women police personnel from 10,000 to 44,000
- Enhanced training capacity, now exceeding 3,000 compared to pre-2017 levels
- Establishment of cyber police stations in all 75 districts to combat cybercrime
- Strengthened forensic science ecosystem for more scientific and effective investigations
Political Discourse and Constitutional Dignity
Adityanath also addressed the conduct during legislative proceedings, criticizing opposition members for inappropriate behavior during the governor's address. He specifically questioned the Leader of the Opposition, suggesting that Samajwadi Party members were out of control, which he linked to past issues where "daughters were scared, and traders were winding up their business."
Quoting the poet Ghalib, he said, "Umar bhar Ghalib yahi bhool karta rha, dhool chehre par thi, aina saaf karta rha" (Dust was on the face, yet I kept cleaning the mirror), implying persistent efforts to improve the state's image despite historical challenges.
A New Identity for Uttar Pradesh
The CM highlighted how Uttar Pradesh has overcome its previous identity crisis, where it was often seen as a bottleneck for central government schemes. Today, it stands as a leading state shaping India's development direction. He noted that 92 members participated in the discussion on the governor's address—60 from the ruling side and 32 from the opposition—which he described as the greatest strength of the Constitution.
Adityanath concluded by reaffirming that political differences are inherent to democracy, but maintaining the dignity of constitutional institutions remains a collective responsibility, underscoring the state's ongoing commitment to progress and stability.
