Uttar Pradesh's Economic Metamorphosis: CM Yogi Adityanath Presents First-Ever Economic Review
In a landmark announcement ahead of the state's budget session, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath declared on Monday that Uttar Pradesh has successfully shed its BIMARU status and emerged as a breakthrough state in India's economic landscape. For the first time in the state's legislative history, the government will present a comprehensive Economic Review in the Assembly, aiming to transparently document UP's developmental trajectory over recent years.
From BIMARU to Breakthrough: A Nine-Year Journey
Addressing the assembly, CM Adityanath emphasized the state's remarkable economic turnaround. "We have rescued Uttar Pradesh from the BIMARU category and firmly established it as a breakthrough engine of India's economy," he stated. The Chief Minister outlined that this transformation is underpinned by significant achievements, including a substantial increase in per capita income, robust employment generation, and the establishment of Uttar Pradesh as a consistently revenue surplus state.
"Even under adverse financial circumstances, we have managed state finances prudently to maintain this surplus status," Adityanath added, highlighting the government's fiscal discipline. The forthcoming Economic Review will serve as a detailed record, enabling both public representatives and citizens to understand the factors driving UP's economic progress.
Call for Constructive Legislative Dialogue
In his address, the Chief Minister made a fervent appeal to opposition members to engage in meaningful dialogue rather than attempting to disrupt parliamentary proceedings. "The legislature is a vital pillar of our democracy. It functions through dialogue, not disruption," he asserted. Adityanath assured that the government is fully prepared to address questions and concerns from all members, and is committed to considering valuable suggestions in the state's interest.
He noted that the past nine years have seen record productivity in legislative proceedings, and expressed hope that the current session would further accelerate UP's development pace. "The state and the nation will be closely watching this session, which provides an important platform for raising critical public issues," the CM remarked.
Budget Session Agenda and Governor's Address
Detailing the schedule for the upcoming two-week budget session, CM Adityanath outlined that the proceedings will commence with the Governor's address, followed by the presentation of the state budget. "The Governor's address is a significant document that encapsulates the government's achievements and outlines our major action plans, which will be formally presented to the public through this House," he explained.
The Chief Minister reiterated his commitment to transparent governance and collaborative policymaking, urging all political parties to participate in substantive discussions on issues affecting the public. "If any member wishes to raise an issue, they should initiate a dialogue. Our government firmly believes in resolving problems through constructive conversation," Adityanath concluded, setting a tone of cooperation for the legislative session ahead.
