As counting continues in the Tamil Nadu Assembly Election 2026, the Vijay-led Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) is leading in over 100 of 233 seats, indicating a strong performance. According to reports, the party has made arrangements at a private resort in Poonjeri near Mamallapuram to house around 100 winning MLAs. This precautionary move comes amid concerns that rival parties, such as the DMK and AIADMK, may attempt to approach elected candidates. The party has directed all winners to report to its Panaiyur headquarters. Earlier, concerns had arisen after a TVK candidate from Edappadi briefly went missing during the scrutiny phase. The situation suggests that Tamil Nadu is heading towards a hung assembly, with no single party securing a clear majority.
