Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday asserted that transparent and corruption-free recruitment has become the cornerstone of Uttar Pradesh's transformation from a 'BIMARU' state into one of India's foremost growth engines. Addressing a program for the distribution of appointment letters to 932 selected candidates across 21 government departments, the Chief Minister emphasized that merit-based recruitment is essential for effective governance and development.
End of Corruption in Recruitment
"Before 2017, corruption and favoritism weakened the system, and appointments were often made on recommendations of influential people or through bribery. A person selected through corrupt means can never contribute to progress. Instead, such practices only lead to decline," he remarked. The Chief Minister highlighted that the state government has worked tirelessly to ensure that recruitment processes are fair and transparent.
Uttar Pradesh's Potential
Highlighting the state's strengths, the Chief Minister said that Uttar Pradesh is blessed with fertile land, abundant natural and water resources, a strong MSME base, and the country's largest youth population. "Despite these advantages, UP once became synonymous with backwardness, forcing many youths to hide their identity while traveling outside the state," he said. He attributed this negative image to the previous governments' failure to harness the state's potential.
Praise for Recruitment Agencies
Hailing the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission for conducting recruitments in a transparent and fair manner, Yogi Adityanath stated that recruitment agencies and boards in the state are now setting examples of integrity and efficiency. He stressed that transparency in recruitment should also reflect in the conduct and work culture of newly appointed officers throughout their service careers. The Chief Minister advised the candidates to develop discipline and dedication. "Hard work put in during the first 10 years of service would lay a strong foundation for the next three decades of professional life," he said.
Record Employment Generation
The Chief Minister also noted that over the past nine years, the state government has distributed appointment letters to more than nine lakh youths. He said these opportunities would not have been possible without a stable and efficient government committed to ensuring good governance. "Providing employment and utilizing the talent of young people across sectors has played a major role in transforming UP into a major contributor to India's economy," he said.
Call to New Officers
Congratulating all 932 newly appointed officers, the Chief Minister said they are now part of a governance system working to implement the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and contribute to the state's continued development. He urged them to serve with integrity and dedication, ensuring that the trust placed in them is upheld.
