CM Yogi Adityanath Confronts SP in UP Assembly, Unveils State's Technological and Economic Progress
In a tense session of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath engaged in a sharp exchange with Samajwadi Party members, invoking the murders of Raju Pal and Umesh Pal to allege that supporters of mafia elements ultimately face severe consequences. The political confrontation underscored the ongoing friction between the ruling party and the opposition.
Emphasis on Dignity and Technological Education
During his address, CM Adityanath asserted that every impoverished individual in Uttar Pradesh possesses the fundamental right to live with dignity and access entitlements without any form of discrimination. He detailed the state government's efforts to integrate vocational education infrastructure with cutting-edge modern technologies.
The administration has established new educational centers specializing in emerging sectors, including:
- Artificial Intelligence
- Digital Technology
- Semiconductors
- Data Science
- Robotics
- Drone Technology
- Space Technology
In collaboration with Tata Technologies, two Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in each district are being upgraded and integrated with these next-generation technologies. This initiative employs a hub-and-spoke model, enabling affiliated institutes to access technical resources and advanced training support from a central hub.
Entrepreneurship and Start-up Ecosystem
Highlighting the importance of future-ready skills, CM Adityanath stressed the urgent need to train as many young people as possible in advanced technologies. He emphasized the effective implementation of national schemes such as Skill India, Startup India, and Standup India within the state.
Currently, Uttar Pradesh boasts more than 20,000 active start-ups, supported by a robust ecosystem comprising 76 incubators, 7 Centres of Excellence, and 8 unicorn companies. The Chief Minister described the proposed UP Data Authority and Data Center Cluster, announced in the state budget, as a forward-looking initiative designed to meet future technological demands.
Economic Growth and Infrastructure Development
CM Adityanath attributed a significant decline in the unemployment rate—from approximately 19% during the previous administration to 2.24% under the current government—to comprehensive policy reforms, increased investment, and improved law and order. He criticized the opposition, suggesting that doubting development initiatives reflects a narrow mindset resistant to change.
The state's Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) has surged from Rs 13 lakh crore to Rs 36 lakh crore, marking substantial economic growth. Uttar Pradesh has emerged as a leader in infrastructure and connectivity, accounting for 55% of India's total expressway network. Additionally, it maintains the largest rail network in the country and is making significant strides in enhancing air connectivity.
Healthcare and Agricultural Reforms
Under the "One District, One Medical College" initiative, the number of medical colleges in Uttar Pradesh has increased from 36 to 81, with the latest institution inaugurated in Amethi. The Chief Minister also highlighted the expansion of sports infrastructure across both urban and rural areas.
Criticizing previous administrations, CM Adityanath alleged that farmers were turned into debtors and artisans were forced into migration due to neglect and insecurity. He claimed that reforms in the agriculture sector over the past 8 to 9 years have delivered unprecedented benefits, enabling higher production at lower costs through a clear and consistent agricultural policy.
