Historic Electronic Scoring Debut at National Police Shooting Championship in Indore
The 19th All India Police Shooting Championship has launched with a significant technological advancement at the Border Security Force's Reoti Ranges in Indore. For the first time in the event's history, the championship is utilizing a newly installed electronic scoring target system, marking a major upgrade in competitive shooting infrastructure.

Grand Opening Ceremony with Distinguished Presence
Madhya Pradesh Director General of Police Kailash Makwana officially inaugurated the week-long championship, addressing participants and extending his best wishes for their success. The opening ceremony witnessed the presence of senior BSF officers and local administration officials, creating an atmosphere of solemnity and celebration. Teams from various Central Armed Police Forces along with state and union territory police units marched in disciplined formation, accompanied by the rhythmic cadence of the BSF brass band.
"This championship holds special importance for shooters from police forces across the country," emphasized DGP Makwana. "All states have sent their finest marksmen for this championship and the facilities developed at the Reoti Ranges further strengthened the competitive environment. Over the years, this platform brought forward several outstanding talents."
Extensive Participation and Competition Structure
The championship has attracted more than 600 elite shooters representing Central Armed Police Forces and state police units from across India. Organized by the Central School of Weapons and Tactics of the BSF in Indore, the event will continue until March 1, featuring intense competition across 17 different shooting events.
Participants will compete for a total of 204 prestigious medals, comprising:
- 68 gold medals
- 68 silver medals
- 68 bronze medals
The championship operates under the supervision of the All India Police Sports Control Board of the Ministry of Home Affairs, with coordination support from the National Rifle Association of India, ensuring adherence to established competition protocols and standards.
