Tarris Reed Jr. delivered a standout performance for UConn. He scored 15 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Silas Demary Jr. contributed 12 points, while Braylon Mullins added 11 points to the Huskies' total.

UConn now holds an impressive 18-1 overall record. They remain undefeated in Big East play with an 8-0 conference mark. The Huskies have now beaten Georgetown 11 straight times since rejoining the Big East. This winning streak matches their longest ever against the Hoyas.

Georgetown's Valiant Effort Falls Short

Georgetown put up a strong fight despite the loss. Vince Iwuchukwu recorded a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds. KJ Lewis also scored 12 points for the Hoyas.

Georgetown's record now stands at 9-9 overall and 1-6 in the Big East. They have lost five consecutive games. The Hoyas have also dropped 24 straight games against ranked opponents. Their last win over a ranked team came in the 2021 Big East Tournament final against Creighton.

The game came down to the wire in the closing seconds. Lewis brought Georgetown within three points at 63-60 with just 32.7 seconds remaining. UConn's Solo Ball then missed two crucial free throws.

Lewis attempted a three-pointer on Georgetown's next possession but came up short. Mullins made one of two foul shots to extend UConn's lead to four points. Iwuchukwu dunked with 1.9 seconds left, but UConn successfully inbounded the ball to run out the clock.

UConn started the game strong, scoring the first six points. Georgetown coach Ed Cooley called a timeout just 95 seconds into the game. Reed dominated early, scoring 11 points in the first five minutes.

UConn could not extend their lead beyond 10 points in the first half. Jayden Fort's dunk just before halftime cut the deficit to 32-28.
