WWE presented the June 19 episode of Friday Night SmackDown from the T-Mobile Arena in Kansas City, Kansas. The show opened with a huge Undisputed WWE title match that concluded without a clear winner. As the night unfolded, the event featured several other thrilling matches, including two semi-finals of the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments, which set the stage for the finals at Night of Champions.
Cody Rhodes vs. Gunther (with Sami Zayn as Special Guest Referee)
The show kicked off with the Undisputed WWE title match between Gunther and Cody Rhodes, with Sami Zayn serving as the Special Guest Referee. The contest exploded, setting an electrifying tone for SmackDown. During the match, an altercation led Gunther to attack Zayn. After a new referee took over following a restart, Zayn recovered and broke up Gunther's pinfall. He then delivered a Helluva Kick to Gunther and also struck Rhodes with the championship belt, resulting in a disqualification finish. Later, Gunther vented his frustrations to Nick Aldis, who announced a triple threat match between them for the title at Night of Champions.
Damian Priest & R-Truth vs. Talla Tonga & Tama Tonga
This match was for the WWE Tag Team Championships. Following an exciting in-ring encounter between both sides, Damian Priest neutralized interference from Solo Sikoa, and R-Truth rolled up Talla Tonga to secure the victory.
Ricky Saints vs. Carmelo Hayes
Carmelo Hayes faced Ricky Saints with a chance to become the number one contender for Trick Williams' US title at Night of Champions. Both men delivered a compelling showdown. In the final moments, while the referee was distracted, Saints shoved Melo twice into the exposed turnbuckle and scored the pinfall to win.
Jey Uso vs. Je'Von Evans
This was the last semi-final match in the King of the Ring tournament. The two competitors showcased an exceptional match filled with high-flying maneuvers and other moves. However, in the end, Jey Uso stopped an attempted OG Cutter, hit a spear on Evans, and finished him off with a splash for the three-count to advance to the finals at Night of Champions.
Charlotte Flair vs. Liv Morgan
The main event of the night featured Liv Morgan facing Charlotte Flair in the Queen of the Ring semi-final. Before the match, Flair was attacked by Jade Cargill and her allies, leaving her leg injured. Despite this, she came out to compete, and the referee even asked her to stop at one point, but she refused. Despite her resilience and valiant effort, it was Liv Morgan who took advantage and won the match by making Flair tap out to the Single Leg Boston Crab, advancing to the finals of the tournament at Night of Champions.
