Harmanpreet leads an illustrious list of women cricketers in the list of most T20Is, which includes New Zealand's Suzie Bates (184 matches), England's Danni Wyatt-Hodge (183), Australia's Ellyse Perry (177), and India's Smriti Mandhana (169). No male cricketer has yet reached the 200 T20I mark, making Harmanpreet a global pioneer.

Harmanpreet, 37, made her T20I debut in 2009 against England. Known for her powerful batting, she has scored over 3,500 runs in the format, including a memorable 171* against Australia in the 2017 ODI World Cup semi-final. She also led India to the T20 World Cup final in 2020 and the Commonwealth Games gold medal in 2022.
According to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Harmanpreet's consistency and longevity have been remarkable. "Her dedication to the sport and ability to perform at the highest level for over 15 years is an inspiration," a BCCI official said.
