Patriots RB TreVeyon Henderson's Viral Post Not About Vrabel Scandal
Henderson's Viral Post Not About Vrabel Scandal

A screenshot shared by Football Crave on X claimed that New England Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson had publicly addressed the alleged affair between head coach Mike Vrabel and NFL reporter Dianna Russini. The caption read: "Patriots RB TreVeyon Henderson has planted his flag on the Mike Vrabel Dianna Russini affair. Vrabel is now expected to step down prior to training camp." The post included a boat emoji, linking to a rumored private boat incident from July 2021 involving Vrabel, which resurfaced via TMZ in May 2026.

Henderson's Cryptic Post Goes Viral

Henderson's supposed social media post read: "If you read this, I pray that this gives you hope. Your sin may be great, but God's grace is greater. Turn away from sin and put your trust in Jesus. 'Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.' Hebrews 13:4." The post quickly gained traction, amassing over 500,000 views, 4,700 likes, 170 comments, 390 reposts, and 280 bookmarks. The first comment appeared to rebut the running back: "Remember when Vrabel said that Henderson needed to be educated? Yeah, well...checkmate, TreVeyon!"

Debunking the Viral Claim

However, the post shared by Football Crave was a combination of an old post by Henderson and content from a parody account. Henderson's original X post, dated May 1, did not contain any boat emoji or reference to the scandal. It read: "If you read this, I pray that this gives you hope. Your sin may be great, but God's grace is greater. Turn away from sin and put your trust in Jesus. 'God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can't take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.' Ephesians 2:8-10." He included four images and the post garnered over 15,000 likes, 700 bookmarks, 1,300 reposts, 200 comments, and 484,000 views.

Impact on Patriots Camp

The fabricated link between Henderson's post and the Vrabel-Russini scandal has sparked widespread discussion, with many users believing the connection. Comments included: "Vrabel will now trade Henderson to 'educate' him" and "I thought they all forgave him and he was good? No?" As rookie minicamp begins and training camp approaches, the ongoing speculation could distract the Patriots, who are preparing for a tough season after failing to reach Super Bowl LX. Vrabel addressed the scandal with players before the 2026 NFL Draft, but recurring headlines may affect team morale.
