Josh Hokit has found himself at the center of another controversy following UFC Freedom 250. The heavyweight fighter responded sharply to Hunter Biden after the former president’s son criticized the UFC event that took place on the South Lawn of the White House. The exchange quickly gained attention online and added to the ongoing political discussion surrounding the historic fight card.
The debate began after UFC commentator Joe Rogan addressed criticism aimed at fighters and fans who attended the June 14 event. Rogan argued that going to a sporting event should not automatically be seen as supporting a political movement. Hunter Biden later explained that his objections were not directed at the UFC itself. Instead, he believed many Americans felt uncomfortable seeing a combat sports event staged at such a symbolic government location.
Josh Hokit and Sean Strickland Respond to Hunter Biden Over UFC White House Event
Hunter Biden shared his thoughts on social media and praised the success that Rogan and UFC CEO Dana White have built. However, he maintained that many people were upset because of the venue chosen for the event rather than the sport or the athletes involved.
Hokit did not hold back in his response. The newly crowned heavyweight star mocked Biden’s past personal struggles and suggested that those issues had kept him distracted from the broader discussion. His post quickly spread across social media and generated strong reactions from both supporters and critics.
The latest exchange is another chapter in the fallout from UFC Freedom 250. The event attracted major attention because it was held at the White House and featured several political figures in attendance. Hokit had already become one of the most talked-about fighters from the card after defeating Derrick Lewis. Following the victory, he presented President Donald Trump with a custom-made chain and delivered a post-fight speech that sparked debate among fans.
UFC Middleweight champion Sean Strickland also entered the chat and replied. He replied to Biden and wrote, “Ill take a cage fight any day over what Biden did. Our founders would roll in their graves if they seen the disgraceful things your father did to the White House”. Meanwhile, former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya has expressed concern about Hokit’s growing list of controversial statements. Speaking on Demetrious Johnson’s MightyCast podcast, Adesanya said he was surprised by the fighter’s comments after the event. He suggested that Hokit appears to be intentionally drawing massive public attention to himself and warned that such behavior could eventually bring unwanted consequences.
