The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Sunday named Virat Kohli in India's 15-member squad for the three-match ODI series against England next month, subject to fitness clearance. The selection committee announced the white-ball assignment squad with Shubman Gill as captain and Rohit Sharma included.
Kohli's Fitness Test Scheduled
Kohli's inclusion is conditional upon passing a fitness test, according to a BCCI note. The in-form batter is set to undergo the test in Bengaluru on Monday. Shreyas Iyer remains vice-captain, while KL Rahul and Ishan Kishan are the wicketkeepers.
ODI Series Schedule
India will play three ODIs against England at Edgbaston (July 14), Sophia Gardens (July 16), and Lord's (July 19). The squad includes a mix of experienced and young players, with Jasprit Bumrah leading the pace attack alongside Prasidh Krishna, Harshit Rana, Arshdeep Singh, and Gurnoor Brar.
T20I Squad Update for Ireland
The BCCI also announced an updated squad for the T20I series against Ireland after spinner Varun Chakravarthy was ruled out due to a left foot injury sustained during IPL 2026. Chakravarthy is in the final stages of rehabilitation at the BCCI Centre of Excellence. Rookie pacer Prince Yadav has been added to the squad. Shreyas Iyer will captain the T20I side, with Tilak Varma as vice-captain.
