Varanasi: Sunit Chourasia, a 31-year-old golfer from Kolkata, secured his third consecutive victory at the DP World PGTI NexGen–Varanasi golf tournament on Friday. He carded a final-round score of 73 to finish with a total score of six-under 204, earning an impressive four-stroke win.
Earlier this year, Chourasia triumphed at the Alpha Sports Academy Golf Championship in Patna in March and the Vijay Kumar Memorial Tournament in Lucknow last week. His consistent performance has been remarkable throughout the season.
The victory earned him Rs 3,17,875 in prize money. With total season earnings of Rs 10,04,393, he finished as the 2026 DP World PGTI NexGen Order of Merit champion, securing his card for the 2027 main DP World PGTI Tour.
The three-day tournament saw intense competition with players from across the country participating. Mukeem Ali of Mathura (67-68-73) and Souvik Nayak of Kolkata (69-69-70) finished as joint runners-up with a total score of two-under 208.
