Rabiram Narzary of the Bodoland Peoples Front (BPF) emerged victorious in the Dotma assembly seat in Assam, defeating his nearest rival Raju Kumar Narzary of the United People's Party, Liberal (UPPL) by a significant margin of 24,283 votes. The election results for the 2026 Assam assembly elections were announced, showcasing a decisive win for the BPF candidate.

Vote Tally and Candidates

According to the Election Commission data, Rabiram Narzary secured a total of 48,775 votes, while Raju Kumar Narzary polled 24,492 votes. Birkhang Boro of the Indian National Congress finished third with 15,410 votes. Independent candidates managed only marginal votes, with the None of the Above (NOTA) option recording 1,138 votes. The Dotma constituency, a Scheduled Tribe-reserved seat in Kokrajhar district within the Bodoland Territorial Region, is one of the newer assembly segments in Assam and forms part of the Kokrajhar Lok Sabha seat.

Voter Turnout Highlights

The constituency recorded a voter turnout of 86.47%, which is higher than the 81.8% turnout seen in the 2021 elections. Assam's 2026 assembly elections overall saw a record turnout of 85.9%, the highest since 1951. Notably, women voters turned out at 86.5%, surpassing male participation at 85.3%, reflecting strong electoral engagement across the state. According to EC data, this marks the highest-ever female participation in Assam's electoral history.
