Indian shuttler Ashmita Chaliha continued her impressive run at the Macau Open Badminton World Tour Super 300, securing a convincing victory over South Korea's Kim Min Sun to advance to the women's singles semifinals on Friday.

Ashmita defeated Kim 21-16, 21-18 in just 37 minutes, setting up a last-four clash against another Korean player, Park Ga Eun. Park received a walkover in the quarterfinals after second seed Busanan Ongbamrungphan of Thailand withdrew, according to a press release from the Badminton Association of India (BAI).

The opening game was tightly contested, with the score tied at 14-14. Ashmita then won four consecutive points to establish a significant lead and maintained her advantage to take the game.

In the second game, Kim took the initiative and led 11-5 at the mid-game interval. However, the left-handed Indian kept the pressure on her opponent and won five straight points from 16-18 down to clinch the match.

Meanwhile, eighth seed Anmol Kharb's campaign ended in the quarterfinals as she lost 14-21, 21-15, 21-13 to fourth seed Han Qian Xi of China.
