Yoga Day Celebrations Draw Large Crowds in Dharwad
Hundreds of participants across all age groups joined yoga sessions at multiple locations in Dharwad on Sunday to mark World Yoga Day. The events commenced with the planting of saplings, symbolizing growth and wellness.
District Administration and AYUSH Lead the Way
Students, government officials, and members of various voluntary organizations took part in the celebrations organized by the district administration and the AYUSH department at RN Shetty Stadium early in the morning. Deputy Commissioner Snehal inaugurated the event and highlighted the benefits of yoga.
She stated that yoga helps people de-stress and lead a healthy and happy life. Noting that this year's theme is 'Yoga for a Healthy Old Age', she emphasized that there is no age limit for practicing yoga and maintaining good health.
Collaborative Participation
Officials from the AYUSH department and members of the Brahma Kumari Ishwareeya Vishwavidyalaya, among others, participated in the program and performed yoga. Trainer Jagadish Malagi guided participants through various yoga postures.
Yoga in Educational Institutions
Students and teachers also performed yoga at educational institutions run by the KE Board, JSS, LEA, Base Mission, SDME Society, and KLE Society. Additionally, the Kayakalpa Yoga Centre in Kelgeri organized a special yoga session for its members.
