French automaker Citroen has officially teased the facelifted version of its popular eC3 electric hatchback, signaling an imminent launch in the Indian market. The updated model is expected to feature several key upgrades, including LED headlamps, a 360-degree camera, and subtle design revisions both inside and out.
Exterior Design Enhancements
The teaser images reveal that the Citroen eC3 facelift will adopt a more modern front fascia. The most notable change is the introduction of full LED headlamps with a distinctive light signature, replacing the previous halogen units. The front grille appears to be slightly redesigned, with a new pattern that complements the sharper bumper contours. Additionally, the car is likely to get new alloy wheel designs and updated tail lamps, enhancing its visual appeal.
Interior and Technology Upgrades
Inside the cabin, the facelifted eC3 is expected to receive a larger touchscreen infotainment system with improved connectivity features. A 360-degree camera system is anticipated, which will aid in parking and low-speed maneuvers. The dashboard layout may see minor tweaks, along with new upholstery options. Citroen is also likely to offer a digital instrument cluster as part of the update, elevating the tech quotient.
Powertrain and Range
Mechanically, the Citroen eC3 facelift is expected to retain the same electric powertrain as the current model. This includes a 29.2 kWh battery pack paired with an electric motor producing 57 bhp and 143 Nm of torque. The claimed range on a single charge is around 320 km (MIDC cycle), which remains competitive in its segment. No changes to the charging infrastructure are anticipated, with support for both AC and DC fast charging.
Expected Launch and Pricing
Citroen is likely to launch the facelifted eC3 in India within the next few months. Pricing is expected to start from around INR 12 lakh (ex-showroom), making it a strong contender in the affordable electric car space. The updates aim to keep the eC3 fresh against rivals like the Tata Tiago EV and MG Comet EV, while offering more value for money.
