How the Scam Unfolded
The complainant was added to a WhatsApp group where members discussed lucrative trading opportunities. The group administrators promised high returns on investments. Believing the scheme to be legitimate, the victim transferred Rs 4 lakh to accounts specified by the group. After the payment, the group administrators became unreachable, and the victim realized he had been cheated.
Police Investigation Underway
