Google Pixel phones in India have gained the manual 'Screen Call' feature through the latest Pixel Drop update. This functionality allows users to filter unknown callers by answering with a text-based interface, though automatic call screening remains unavailable in the region.
AI-Powered Replies Introduced
With this update, users can enable AI-generated suggested replies during call screening. These context-based responses go beyond preset options, offering more flexibility in handling calls.
Feature Availability
The manual 'Screen Call' feature is currently live on the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold. Automatic call screening, which works without user intervention, remains exclusive to the United States.
How to Enable the Feature
Users can activate 'Screen Call' via the Phone app settings or during an incoming call from unknown numbers. Once enabled, the feature provides a text interface to interact with callers.
Regional Rollout Status
Previously limited to select Western markets, Australia, and Japan, the feature has now expanded to India. This marks a significant step in Google's efforts to bring advanced calling features to more regions.
