Vijayawada: Global Schools Group (GSG), headquartered in Singapore, has announced the establishment of a new campus of its flagship Global Indian International School (GIIS) in Amaravati. The campus will be built on a four-acre site at Sakhamuru in Thulluru mandal with an investment of ₹100 crore. The project aims to create a modern, sustainable K-12 learning environment aligned with global standards.
Agreement Signed with CRDA
A formal agreement was signed between the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) and GIIS. CRDA joint director Jubin Roy and GIIS country director Rajeev Koul signed the pact. The proposed campus will feature advanced learning facilities, tech-enabled classrooms, innovation labs, sports infrastructure, and performing arts centres, focusing on holistic student development. The institution will follow GIIS’s globally recognised framework that blends academic excellence with leadership, entrepreneurship, values-based learning, and future-ready skills.
Vision for Swarna Andhra 2047
GSG chairman and co-founder Atul Temurnikar said the group was honoured to be part of the Swarna Andhra Vision 2047 initiative and contribute to innovation and skill development. He thanked chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu and the government for fostering an environment that welcomes global institutions and investments in education. He said the GIIS campus would be more than a school, calling it an investment in Amaravati’s future. “Our aim is to equip students with globally benchmarked education, along with the skills, values and sustainability mindset needed in a rapidly changing world,” he added.
Strengthening Singapore-Amaravati Ties
During his visit to Singapore, Naidu met Temurnikar and welcomed the decision to set up the campus in Amaravati. The project underscores continued collaboration between Singapore and Amaravati. With Singapore playing a key role in the city’s master plan, the entry of a Singapore-headquartered institution is expected to strengthen ties in education, talent development, and knowledge exchange.
Global Reach of GIIS
GSG operates 64 campuses across 11 countries, including Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, the UAE, and the UK, serving over 45,000 students from more than 70 nationalities. The Amaravati campus will expand GIIS’s footprint in India while catering to the growing demand for international education.
