Children aged up to 15 will soon be able to celebrate birthdays at Gujarat's regional science centres (RSCs) under a new state government initiative aimed at promoting STEM education. The programme, titled 'Celebrate with Science,' was approved earlier this week by the state's Department of Science and Technology.
Programme Details
The group will be charged a nominal fee for the science-themed celebration set-up that will include a personalised birthday certificate, a gift and a complimentary ride, said a senior Gujarat Council on Science and Technology (GUJCOST) official. The celebrations will also feature educational themes based on great scientists, innovators, Nobel laureates, landmark discoveries and iconic ISRO space missions.
Launch and Expansion
The initiative will be launched initially at regional science centres in Bhavnagar, Patan, Bhuj and Rajkot. It is expected to be expanded later to centres in Vadodara, Surat, Jamnagar, Junagadh and Porbandar, and district science centres across Gujarat.
This innovative approach aims to make learning fun and inspire young minds to explore science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through engaging birthday experiences.
