National Workshop on Grassroots Innovation in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: The Gujarat Science City on Tuesday hosted the inaugural ceremony of the National Workshop on Grassroots Innovation Pathway: From Local Resilience to National Advancements. This two-day national workshop, jointly organized by the Gujarat Council on Science and Technology (GujCOST) and the National Innovation Foundation (NIF), was attended by Union Minister of State for Science and Technology Dr Jitendra Singh and Gujarat's Science and Technology Minister Arjun Modhwadia.

Participation and Themes

Over 200 delegates from across the country participated in the initiative. The primary themes of the event include water conservation, agriculture, healthcare, rural livelihoods, and climate resilience, according to the organizers.

Key Addresses

In his address, Dr Jitendra Singh highlighted the successful startups emerging from Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. He emphasized the need to connect these innovations with cutting-edge technology, institutional support, and industry partnerships to foster growth and sustainability.

Arjun Modhwadia, in his speech, noted that the National Education Policy (NEP) has encouraged creativity and innovation among the youth. He stressed that this is crucial for realizing the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047, a developed India that leverages grassroots innovations for national progress.

The workshop aims to bridge the gap between local resilience and national advancements, providing a platform for innovators to showcase their solutions and collaborate with experts from various fields.
