UAE Interior Ministry Issues Alert Over Surge in Fraudulent Phone Calls

The Interior Ministry of the United Arab Emirates has issued a critical warning to residents following a significant increase in suspicious phone calls. These communications involve fraudsters impersonating government officials in an attempt to obtain personal and sensitive data.

Ministry Denies Association with Fraudulent Number

In a statement released on Sunday, the ministry explicitly distanced itself from calls originating from the number 70614213 or any similar numbers. It firmly denied any connection between itself, its affiliated agencies, and these fraudulent communications. Officials confirmed that such calls are part of impersonation tactics and electronic fraud schemes designed to extract confidential information.

Public Advised to Protect Personal Information

Residents across the UAE have been urged to remain vigilant and not engage with suspicious calls or unknown callers. The ministry specifically warned against disclosing sensitive details, including:

The ministry stated that the sources behind these fraudulent communications are currently being traced. Legal measures will be implemented against those found responsible. Officials emphasized that individuals involved in impersonation and electronic fraud will face strict legal accountability.

Rely on Official Channels for Accurate Information

Authorities called on the public to rely exclusively on official channels for accurate and trustworthy information. Residents were also encouraged to report any suspicious activity immediately through designated reporting platforms.
