Oppo Find N7 Leak: Wider Foldable, Crease-Free Display, SD 8 Elite Gen 6

Oppo's upcoming foldable smartphone, the Find N7, has been detailed in a new leak, showcasing a wider form factor, a crease-free inner display, and the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processor. The device is expected to launch in the second half of 2026, directly competing with Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 7.

Wider Design and Display Improvements

According to tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the Oppo Find N7 will adopt a wider aspect ratio for both the cover and main screens, addressing a common criticism of previous models. The cover display is rumored to measure 6.5 inches with a 21:9 aspect ratio, while the inner foldable screen will be 7.85 inches with a near-square 1:1 ratio. This change aims to provide a more natural typing and viewing experience, similar to traditional smartphones.

The inner display is said to feature a new ultra-thin glass (UTG) layer that virtually eliminates the crease, a persistent issue with foldable phones. Oppo is reportedly using a custom hinge mechanism with a reduced number of moving parts, enhancing durability and allowing the device to fold flat without a gap.

Performance and Hardware

Under the hood, the Find N7 will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset, built on a 3nm process. This processor is expected to offer a 25% improvement in CPU performance and a 30% boost in GPU efficiency compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, according to leaked benchmarks. The device will pack up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage.

Battery capacity is rumored to be 4,800mAh, supporting 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The phone will also feature an IPX8 water resistance rating, a first for Oppo's foldable lineup.

Camera System

The camera setup includes a triple rear array: a 50MP primary sensor with OIS, a 50MP ultrawide, and a 64MP periscope telephoto lens offering 5x optical zoom. The cover and inner displays will each house a 32MP selfie camera. Oppo is expected to collaborate with Hasselblad for color tuning, as seen in previous Find models.

According to the leak, the Find N7 will run ColorOS 15 based on Android 16, with Oppo promising four major OS updates and five years of security patches.

Market Positioning and Launch

Oppo aims to undercut Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 7 with a starting price of around $1,499, which is $100 less than its predecessor. The device is expected to launch in China in August 2026, followed by a global rollout in September. The leak also suggests Oppo will release a more affordable Find N7 Flip variant in early 2027.

Industry analysts believe the wider design and crease-free display could give Oppo a competitive edge in the premium foldable market, which is projected to grow by 40% in 2026.
