Redmi 17C Officially Unveiled in China
Xiaomi's sub-brand Redmi has introduced the Redmi 17C in China, a budget smartphone that packs a 120Hz display, a large 5160mAh battery, and the new MediaTek Helio G81 Ultra processor. The device is positioned as an affordable option for users seeking smooth visuals and long battery life.
Key Specifications and Features
The Redmi 17C sports a 6.74-inch IPS LCD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels. Under the hood, the MediaTek Helio G81 Ultra chipset powers the phone, paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The device runs MIUI 14 based on Android 13.
For photography, the Redmi 17C features a 50MP primary camera on the rear, accompanied by a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, there is a 5MP selfie camera housed in a waterdrop notch. The phone also includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security.
Battery and Pricing
A standout feature is the 5160mAh battery, which supports 18W fast charging. The Redmi 17C comes in four color options: Midnight Black, Ocean Blue, Mint Green, and Starry White. Pricing starts at CNY 799 (approximately $110) for the 4GB+128GB variant, going up to CNY 999 for the 8GB+256GB model. Sales in China begin on June 30.
According to Xiaomi, the Redmi 17C aims to deliver a premium experience at an entry-level price point. The company stated, 'We are committed to bringing high-refresh-rate displays and long-lasting batteries to more users.'
