Ahmedabad: The brief respite from the scorching summer heat proved to be short-lived for Amdavadis as the mercury staged a sharp comeback on Friday. After a few days of relatively milder conditions, the city reclaimed its title as the hottest spot in Gujarat, with the maximum temperature hitting 43.3 degrees Celsius.

This reading stood 1.5 degrees above the seasonal average, making the heat feel particularly intense across the urban landscape. Even the nights offered little relief as the minimum temperature settled at 27.4 degrees Celsius, roughly 1.2 degrees higher than normal.

IMD Forecast

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast, the maximum temperature on Saturday is likely to be around 43 degrees Celsius. The IMD stated: "No large change in maximum temperatures during next 48 hours, thereafter gradual fall by 2-3 degrees Celsius very likely over the region. Maximum temperatures are very likely to be above 40 degrees Celsius at isolated pockets of the Gujarat state during next four days."

Heat Across Gujarat

The heat was not confined to Ahmedabad alone. Several other regions felt the burn, including Rajkot at 42.7 degrees Celsius, Gandhinagar at 42.6 degrees Celsius, Surendranagar at 42.5 degrees Celsius, and Amreli at 41.9 degrees Celsius. Residents across the state are advised to take precautions against the intense heat.
