Russia's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Vassily Nebenzia, launched a fierce attack on Western nations during a UN Security Council session, following a Ukrainian strike on a school dormitory in Russia's Luhansk People's Republic. Nebenzia accused the West of ignoring alleged crimes committed against Russian children while focusing only on accusations against Moscow.
Nebenzia Condemns Double Standards
Nebenzia condemned what he called "double standards" by Western countries over civilian deaths in Russia, Iran, and Gaza. He accused nations backing Ukraine of bearing responsibility for the ongoing bloodshed. The Russian envoy also defended Moscow's military operation in Ukraine, insisting that Russia's objectives "will be achieved."
Warning to Trump and Netanyahu
In a heated exchange, Nebenzia directly addressed former US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, stating: "You killed school girls, minors..." He issued a stern warning, implying that such actions would not go unpunished. The outburst came amid escalating tensions between Russia and the West over the conflict in Ukraine.
The Ukrainian strike on the school dormitory reportedly killed several civilians, including children, prompting Russia to call for an emergency UN Security Council meeting. Nebenzia's remarks highlight the deepening divide between Russia and Western nations at the United Nations.
